In 1987 L’AQUILA started supplying truffles and dried mushrooms to the UK independent retailers, and developing innovative products based on them. By the early 90s, the company’s name was synonymous with wild fungi and truffles when the market was still rather niche – but as soon as celebrity chefs hit TV screens and declared porcini a ‘store cupboard ingredient’, L’AQUILA's products started being stocked in major department stores and supermarkets.

 

Alongside our own brands, we have developed various trade marks, from Shake O’Cini™ porcini powder,  Fungi Foray™, dried mushroom, to different truffle and mushroom sauces and condiments (La Truffata™, Salsa Truffina™, Truffoil™). Retailers appreciate that we come from a successful restaurateur background, which has equipped us with an intimate understanding of the products that we supply together with our in-depth knowledge of UK consumer trends.
